Acute toxicity estimate (ATE, ATEmix)

InnovaDocs SDS teamUpdated: 6 November 2026

Definition: The ATE is the value used to classify acute toxicity under CLP, and ATEmix is calculated for a mixture from its ingredients with the formula 100 / ATEmix = Σ (Ci / ATEi).

ATEs are set per route: oral and dermal in mg/kg body weight, inhalation in mg/l or ppm. Where no LD50 or LC50 is available, CLP Annex I gives conversion point estimates for each category.

The ATEmix result decides the acute toxicity category (H300 to H332) of the mixture and belongs in SDS section 11.
