Definition: An EWC code is the six-digit code from the EU List of Waste (Decision 2000/532/EC) that identifies a waste type; an asterisk marks hazardous waste, for example 07 06 04*.
Codes depend on the source process, so the SDS can only suggest codes in section 13; the waste holder assigns the final code.
Section 13 should also give disposal methods and refer to the national waste law of the target country.
The correct name is the List of Waste (LoW, formerly EWC), as amended by Decision 2014/955/EU under the Waste Framework Directive 2008/98/EC.
