Poison centre and emergency number (SDS 1.4)

InnovaDocs SDS teamUpdated: 6 November 2026

Definition: SDS section 1.4 gives an emergency telephone number, usually the official poison centre of the country where the product is sold, with its opening hours.

Every Member State designates its own appointed body under CLP Article 45. A German SDS needs a German number, a French SDS a French one.

If the number is only available during office hours, the SDS must say so.

Germany has several regional poison centres, so the SDS lists the one relevant to the supplier. REACH Annex II, Section 1.4 also requires the appointed body under CLP Article 45 where one exists.
